As Brunei Darussalam advances on its digital transformation journey towards becoming a Smart Nation, the demand for advanced digital skills is rapidly growing.

To address the shortage of skilled ICT professionals, the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) has introduced the Digital Upskilling Training Programme, as one of the key initiatives that provides Bruneians with access to globally recognised ICT courses.

In partnership with appointed training vendors, AITI is offering training courses designed to equip locals with essential industry skills in areas such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Application Development, Network Security, Cybersecurity, and more.

 Participants in the programme can receive up to 80% subsidy upon successful completion of their course and certification, making this an accessible opportunity for locals to enhance their expertise. 

Successful completion of Year 1

In the first year of the programme, AITI facilitated ITIL 4 Foundation and CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst training between July 2023 and February 2024.  Out of 27 participants, 52% had successfully passed their certification exams and received subsidies. The participants included self-funded individuals and employees from the private sector.

Empowering the workforce with Year 2

As the programme enters its second year, it offers courses such as AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker, and CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst. These courses are designed to upskill the workforce and deepen their technical expertise in key areas critical to the digital industry.

Local professionals, including permanent residents, as well as companies, can now enrol in these courses to stay competitive in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. Terms and conditions apply.
