BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Datastream Digital (DST) and Unified National Networks (UNN) inked a new data centre resale agreement on Tuesday.
Through this deal, DST can resell space at UNN’s data centre to Bruneian businesses, financial institutions and government agencies, in a practice known as “colocation”.
Colocation is the practice of leasing space for servers and other computing hardware at a third-party provider’s data centre facility.
DST will offer colocation services at UNN’s facilities in Tungku Zone 8 and Sumbiling Telephone House, addressing growing demand from local organisations for reliable, in-country data hosting.
“Through this partnership, DST will bring UNN’s Data Centre capacity to market and work with organisations to design their digital transformation roadmaps, from colocation to full cloud enablement,” the company said in a statement.
DST will manage the physical infrastructure layer allowing clients to concentrate on core business operations.
DST CEO Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni said the agreement marked “a pivotal moment” for DST, with the telco moving beyond mobile and internet services to enterprise-grade solutions.
“We see a clear trajectory — from colocation to cloud computing and ultimately to full cloud platforms. DST stands ready to support our customers on that journey.”
