BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – With customer convenience in mind, Insurans Islam TAIB General Takaful (IITGT) recently launched its IIT mobile app and General Takaful Helpline at 2223004.

The helpline and mobile app will allow customers to get a quote, buy insurance, as well as pay online at their own convenience. Customers can also opt for free delivery of their Takaful policy.

According to IITGT’s marketing manager, Shameon Tamil, the new services were introduced to tackle long queues, especially on pay day; branches with limited parking and to reduce delayed response times on telephone queries.

“The IIT mobile app was introduced to provide solutions for participants [with the] ease of having product information and policy participation at their fingertips.

“They can also use the special features within the app to make new transactions or renew their participation,” he said.

Executive officer of Teletakaful & Support Services, Norshahrul Azim Hj Abd Rahman, said the company can provide a quotation within one working day, with some requests taking as little as five or 10 minutes.

Customers can request a quote via the “Get Quote” feature within the app, particularly those looking at the following: House Owner Takaful/Fire Takaful, Motor Takaful and Takaful Kembara.

Customer service representatives will issue quotation numbers via email, phone call or Whatsapp.

Customers can pay using BIBD online banking via the “Pay bill/Make donation” menu option, and all they have to do is provide their name, IC number and quotation number.

“We will contact you to have your policy delivered or collected at our Kiulap head office or Kuala Belait branch,” said Norshahrul.

Currently, payment is facilitated via BIBD, but IITGT will be introducing more banks in the near future.

In the second phase, the app will allow users to make seamless e-commerce transactions on selected products.

Beginning Monday, February 18, the first 100 customers with who purchase Comprehensive Motor Takaful and Home Owner Takaful through the app and General Takaful Helpline will be rewarded with The Coffee Bean vouchers, while stocks last.


Customers can contact the General Takaful Helpline at 2223004 between 8.30am and 4.30pm. The IITGT mobile app is available in both Google Play and the App store.
