BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Brunei’s latest emergency roadside assistance service, 24 Roadside Assist, launched on Friday.

The introduction of 24 Roadside Assist provides more value-added services for customers of Takaful Brunei Am’s (TBA) private motor takaful.

Present during the launch was Takaful’s Managing Director, Hj Shahrildin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Hj Jaya, and Managing Director of Bengkel Kereta Berakas, Awg Haji Mohd Yussof Hj Judin.

The ceremony commenced with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and doa selamat followed by welcoming remarks from head of 24 Roadside Assist, Nardi bin Taha.

The service provides three key elements to motorists: rapid assistance, mobile application and Accident Reporting Center (ARC).

As road accidents often lead to traffic congestion, Takaful’s rapid assistance response team is able to maneuver past congestions to reach customers faster. Trained motorcycle riders are deployed during an emergency or distress situation, and their priority is to ensure customers’ safety and well-being.

Team members will help Takaful customers gather vital on-site information and evidence, such as a description of the accident and photographs of the scene. They will also assist with Motor Claims Guideline (MCG) procedures, traffic coordination and motor accident assistance.

Takaful’s Accident Reporting Center is a one-stop motor accident service centre where customers may lodge an accident notification or a motor accident claim report, assisted by customer service representatives.

Here, certified loss adjusters will carry out an accident vehicle inspection and make sure vehicles are taken care of by an authorised Takaful Brunei Am workshop, saving customers the trouble of having to deal with multiple parties.

The mobile app also provides a way for customers to provide their GPS location after an accident and track the arrival of the first responders, who should arrive within 30 to 45 minutes from the time of notification.

Registered users of the app — available on Google Play and coming soon to the App Store — can also request roadside assistance for emergencies such as a flat battery, empty fuel tank, flat tyre, or lost keys. They can also request towing services and alternative transport.

24 Roadside Assist currently boasts 24 towing trucks, six road assistance vehicles and three rapid assistance motorcycles.

The 24 Roadside Assist Accident Reporting Center is located at Spg 281, Plot No 8/2013, Lambak kanan Industrial Area, Jalan Berakas.

TBA customers can also contact the 24/7 hour hotline at 244 4442.
