Brunei’s monarch announced a surprise cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, replacing some of the country’s longest-serving government ministers.

In a televised address at 2.30pm, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam announced the changes, which saw six ministers being replaced and several new promotions, including two women as deputy ministers.
