There’s no better way to learn a new culture than by immersing yourself in it. And if you’ve always been curious about anything French, the upcoming Alliance Française Gala Dinner offers the perfect opportunity.

“This is the second year we are organising the gala dinner and we have coincided the event with the Brunei December Festival to support the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism’s initiative,” Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam’s new president, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Daro Seri Setia Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah told The Scoop.

The dinner, which will be held on December 27 at the Tarindak d’Polo Restaurant in Jerudong, will offer diners an interesting fusion of French and local cuisine as well as cultural performances from both countries.

Seats are limited, so be sure to secure yourself a place by purchasing a ticket from the Alliance Française de Brunei Office located at No. 565, Kg Sungai Hanching, Jalan Muara. Tickets are available at $70 per person and interested parties can call 2341504 for more information.

“To further strengthen the strong ties between the French Community in Brunei and the people of Brunei, Alliance Française plays the important role as a conduit in linking both cultures. We want to build a more beautiful friendship,” Pehin Dato Hj Hazair said.

Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam has established itself as the French cultural centre in the sultanate since 1986. In its efforts to promote Francophone culture and French language, it has organised various events and initiatives in the sultanate, including conducting language classes and its annual Francophone Week.
