The Brunei chapter of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council is calling on local businesses to contest the ASEAN Business Awards.
Now in its second decade, the ABA was conceived in 2007 to recognise outstanding ASEAN enterprises, and to serve as a platform to spread information about regional integration through the ASEAN Economic Community.
ABA also brings to the spotlight promising ASEAN small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have the potential of becoming global economic players.
This year’s ASEAN Business Awards will be divided into the following categories:
- Priority Integration Sector Awards
- SME Excellence
- Friends of ASEAN
- Young Entrepreneur
- Women Entrepreneur
- Sustainable Social Enterprise
- Family Business
Two Bruneian entrepreneurs were among 47 honoured at last year’s ABA held in Manila, Philippines.
Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte presented the Legacy Award to Hj Musa Hj Adinin of the Adinin Group of Companies, while Adrian Tan Vui Shing was won the Most Promising Entrepreneur award.
Other past Bruneian winners include BMC Food Industries and Megamas Training Company.
Businesses keen on gaining regional recognition are encouraged to submit their documents online by registering at www.aba2018.org by July 31.
The awards ceremony will take place at the ASEAN Business Awards Gala Dinner in Singapore on November 12.
