BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – A newborn baby boy was found abandoned early on Thursday morning inside a public toilet at the Gerai Aneka Ria in the Rimba Public Housing Scheme.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) confirmed that the baby boy was discovered by vendors at the nearby gerai, or food stalls, who then made an emergency call to 993 at 8.27am.

Video footage and photos of the baby being rescued by have gone viral on social media, with the video showing one man rescuing the newborn from the toilet stall, while another wraps the child in a shirt to keep him warm.

Once an ambulance arrived on the scene, the boy was immediately taken to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for a medical examination.

The RBPF said the matter is being investigated and they are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
