Get ready to tickle your tastebuds at the Food Fest 2018.
The event, which will bring together a host of food vendors, will take place at the Dermaga Diraja in the capital from December 15 to 30.
With more than 30 vendors already registered, the area will be divided into four categories: food zone, rent-a-tent, rent-a-space and the parking area.
“For the food zone, visitors can expect choices of food from Kofta Diva, Pizza Hut, Yellow Cab Pizza, Charcoal BBQ & Grill Restaurant, RBC Express, thai food and sandwiches, among others,” said a representative from AIZ event management and Nur Badiah event management .
For the ‘rent a tent’ and ‘rent a space’ zones, vendors will be selling miscellaneous items such as handicrafts, phone accessories, clothes, cosmetics as well as grooming services such as manicure and pedicure sessions.
Food trucks will be allocated in the parking area such as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Aidijuma and Top Folk.
“Apart from efforts to enliven the capital, the event is organised to encourage the entrepreneurs not just to sell their products [during the Food Fest] but to promote them at the same time. We hope they will gain a new following.”
Held in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival 2018, the event also encourages youths to showcase their talents.
“We have provided a stage for those eager to perform. This can be a platform for them to [showcase their talent such as] singing, silat, cultural dance, tausyeh or nasyid,” said the representative.
The main highlight of the fest will be a 60-foot long light tunnel which will be placed near the surau area at the waterfront.
“Visitors can check out the tunnel and take pictures without having to pay for anything.”
Other highlights include a reptile showcase, a colouring contest, a make up demonstration, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) tournament, among others.
Vendors who wish to participate in the event can still register until December 14 by contacting Kesiya at 8180008 or Mims at 8352895.
