Applications are now open for the YSEALI Women’s Leadership Workshop 2019, a fully-funded programme aimed at empowering the future female leaders of Southeast Asia.

Hosted by the Jakarta-based US Mission to ASEAN, the workshop will gather 33 women from all 10 ASEAN countries, as well as Timor-Leste, from June 10 to 14.

More than a dozen Bruneian women have participated in programme, which focuses on leadership skills training and personal development, with an emphasis on building economic capacity among participants.

Participants will have the opportunity to to undergo individualised assessments, mentoring sessions, networking opportunities and training sessions led by industry experts.

Organisers will also run training sessions on economic project planning, team management, discussion of key gender issues and economic development within the region.

Eligible participants include promising young women who identify themselves as aspiring leaders who will benefit from an interactive leadership training to advance their careers.

Applicants must be between 25 to 35; university graduates with three to five years of professional working experience; and fluent in English.

They must also register to become a YSEALI member.

Women leaders in the economic development sector are especially encouraged to apply.

The sponsorship includes travel to Jakarta, accommodation and transport, all programme activities, as well as the possibility of small grant funding.
