In honour of International Women’s Day, the High Commission of Canada is organising a speed mentoring and networking event that will take place at Rimba Garden Central on March 8.

The event aims to empower and provide young Bruneian women the opportunity to meet with other like-minded individuals, while networking and learning from industry leaders and influencers in Brunei.

In a press release, the high commission said the objective is to encourage sustainable engagement between the mentees and mentors, and to inspire young women to reach their potential and contribute to Brunei’s socio-economic growth.

The event will see 20 mentors of various professional backgrounds, including government officials, prominent business owners and heads of diplomatic missions.

They include the former Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hjh Adina Othman; Legislative Council Member Siti Rozaimeriyanty DSLJ Hj Abd Rahman; the Chief Information Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, Tan Ngee Lee; and the Chief Marketing Officer of Progresif Cellular, Devin Edwards.

Admission to the event is free and registration is on a first come first served basis, with slots limited to 50 people.

The event is hosted by the High Commission of Canada, in collaboration with the Brunei Womenpreneur Network and Big BWN Project.
