BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – His Majesty the Sultan graced BYD’s booth at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri event hosted by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation on Saturday.
Held at the International Convention Centre, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Exhibition 2026 brought together participants from government agencies, the education, industry and technology sectors, as well as community groups.
His Majesty toured the exhibition and was welcomed to the BYD booth by Managing Director of Maju Motors Chan Key Hong. He briefed the monarch on BYD’s success as the leading retailer of new energy vehicles in Brunei Darussalam.
The sultan was also presented with a pesambah (royal gift) of a miniature model of the Yangwang U8, an off-road electric SUV.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
BYD’s presence at the celebration reflects the company’s leading role in Brunei’s automotive sector, particularly in new energy vehicles and intelligent mobility.
In line with the event’s theme, “AI Innovation: A Catalyst for Community Development”, BYD highlighted advanced AI-powered features for drivers in Brunei, including driver assistance systems, sensor-based safety features and intelligent vehicle controls designed to enhance safety, stability and the overall driving experience.
