Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) will be organising a financial fun fair this weekend in conjunction with National Savings Day!

Carrying the theme ‘Financially Literate Generation’, financial institutions such as AMBD and Baiduri Bank will be conducting a variety of activities for visitors to help raise awareness on the importance of financial literacy.

For just $8 for adults and $4 for children aged 3 to 11, visitors get access to unlimited rides at Jerudong Park Playground. But if you just want access to the grounds, a $2 ticket gets you into to the grounds, plus mini golf, Adventure Kingdom and one free ride at Ice World Arctic.

Pg Azaleen PD Hj Mustapha, Baiduri’s head of Retail Banking and Branch Network, said: “We feel financial literacy is important, especially for our young visitors. Our fun and interactive activities have been designed to accomplish two goals. Those goals are to keep the parents well-informed of the opportunities available with savings and to raise awareness of the benefits of savings.”

The games which visitors can take part in during the fun fair are ‘Money Personality’, designed to help participants identify their financial habits, and ‘The Bad Debt Wolf’, a target-shooting activity where children are asked to identify the targets as good or bad debt and then shoot down the bad debt.

“It is important that the younger generation understand the basics of finances. We have a team of financial planners manning our booth who will be available to answer any questions our visitors may have,” said Pg Azaleen.

Baiduri Bank will also be conducting an hourly quiz where visitors can win prizes.

The Financial Fun Fair will be open from 4pm to 10pm on Saturday, August 4  and from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday, August 5.
